Pep Boys, Rancho Cordova, CA - SUCKS!!!
So, I'm driving to work Friday and my tire light comes on. Oh, I must need air in the tires. So, after work I stop at Pep Boys to have them checked. I see I need new tires as the front or scuffed up from the mountain switch back roads I travel. I decide to have new tires put on to be safe. I'm told they have 4 tires in the back I can have. I set up an appointment for Monday morning. I receive a text message that my appointment is confirmed. I drop the car off at 4:30am to take advantage of their early bird drop off program. Then the car will be finished when I get off work and I can head back up the hill to home. When I get there at 1:30, they hand me a work order to fill out. ?? To my astonishment they haven't even moved my car yet. Not only that, they haven't even taken my keys out of the early bird key drop box yet. GREAT! Now I have to wait an hour for them to put my tires on. 45 minutes later they come to me and tell me that they sold my tires over the weekend and they didn't have in stock. !! EXPLATIVES !! So not only did they sale the tires out from under me, it takes them 45 minutes to figure out they sold the tires and don't have any. REALLY!!!!!????? They tell me they can't get any until Friday as they are in a different state and have to be sent UPS. If it were my store, first this wouldn't happen and second, I would have them shipped overnight for good customer service. You sure don't get that here. These inDUHviduals don't give a rats patut about customer service. Be wary if you venture into this store. They don't believe in customer service or I would have new tires on my car. I rate this place with a minus 10!!!!! I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE. THIS PLACE IS A HAZARD TO CAR SERVICE!!!!!!
2 days have gone by ....
So, I contacted the BBB and they sent Pep Boys a 48-hour response time limit. Well, it is 48 hours since the BBB has sent Pep Boys the notice to call me and still no reply or call. I think Pep Boys is really out for themselves. They obviously care didly about their customers or business. I went to Wall Mart and got 4 tires of the exact size, make and type that Pep Boys said they didn't make anymore. Cost me $300 less than Pepe Boys was going to charge me. I say "Pep Boys, take a long walk off a short pier. You should be good at that." I will never go to another Pep Boys again and suggest no one else does either, unless you have $300 more than you know what to do with. I'll take it.
Following Monday
Pep Boys calls. They have a new assistant manager and "They have 4 tires for me and want to setup an appointment to put them on". I said, "Oh, I thought you were calling about the BBB report sent to you." I heard the deer-in-the-headlight look. He said, "I haven't seen it yet" You know where this is going. After I brought him up to speed, I referred him to this yelp post. He said he was sorry for the trouble and would get back to me.
2 weeks later
Nope, not a word. Oh, I did get an email from them today (6\26\17);
And I quote....
"Dear Mike:
Sorry you couldn't make your recent service appointment with us -- do you want to set another time? Just click here to reschedule. Thanks for letting us know you couldn't make your appointment. We hope to see you soon!"
REALLY?!?!!!?? Who's the inDUHvidual in charge of sending out emails???
Pep Boys, get it together. You are one sorry excuse for a car maintenance shop.

Received a phone call a couple of days ago from Pep Boys NEW manager. "We would like to send you a gift card for your inconvenience and trouble. It is a Visa card so you can use it for whatever you want."
I said "OK". Figured may as well, at least it’s something. I got the card today, it thanked me for allowing them to serve me. And in appreciation here is a $100 you can spend in our store. It is a Pep Boys gift card only good a Pep Boys stores. What the "H" "E" double hockey sticks am I going to do with that. It’s not like I plan on going into any of their stores, ever. Besides, then they get their money back plus markup!!! WHAT A JOKE and how inconsiderate to think I liked being treated this way and to offer me money to come back into their store so they can do it again???? Maybe I can get .10 on the dollar for it on eBay.
Pep Boys has got a lot of inDUHviduals working in corporate. They really need to look at customer support and the way their stores treat customers, and corporate's lack of caring and condoning their stores to mistreat customers. Then insult them with a in-store gift card. REALLY!?!?!?!
Any company that lets their stores treat customers this way and condones this type of customer service really needs to find a new business to run. Pep Boys obviously cares didly about the way stores treat customers. .
